Is JobSentry really free?
Yes — the core features (ghost detection, scam alerts, recruiter badges) work immediately with no signup and no payment. Create a free account for salary benchmarks and match scores. There's an optional Pro tier for power users who want AI-powered deep analysis, but most people use the free version.
What data does the extension access?
The extension reads the URL of job pages you visit on SEEK, Indeed AU, and LinkedIn to fetch match scores and ghost/scam data from our server. It does not extract or send job listing content, and it never accesses your browsing history or personal files.
Where do the job listings come from?
Jobs are sourced from Australian data providers and refreshed daily. You don't need to do anything — just browse and the extension shows scores and flags automatically.
How does the ghost job detection work?
We analyse 6 signals per listing: listing age, repost patterns, description vagueness, talent-pool language, salary disclosure, and recruiter transparency. Each listing gets a ghost score from 0-100 with a plain-English classification.
How does the matching work?
You set up a profile with your target roles, skills, location, salary expectations, and more. Our AI scores every job 0-100 across 6 dimensions and shows you the breakdown of strengths and gaps.
Does it work on mobile?
JobSentry is a Chrome desktop extension. Mobile support isn't available yet, but your matches are accessible from the extension dashboard on any desktop.
Is my data safe?
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Auth tokens are stored locally on your device. The server is hosted in Sydney. We don't share data with anyone.
